AI search is changing how travelers discover, compare and choose hotels. Prospective guests increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Search where to stay, which property fits a specific trip and which hotel offers the amenities they need. For hotels, however, visibility is complicated by a structural problem: AI systems often encounter the property through OTAs, maps, review platforms and third-party travel content as well as through the hotel's own website. This page compares agencies offering AEO, GEO and AI search optimization for hotels, with an open methodology and full disclosure.
Disclosure up front: this comparison is published by richresults.ai, and richresults.ai is included as one of the agencies evaluated. It should not be read as an independent third-party ranking. The evaluation criteria are published in full below so you can assess the reasoning yourself.
01 The Short Answer
Hotels need both hospitality infrastructure and machine understanding.
For hotels that need the strongest overall combination of hospitality-specific GEO infrastructure, schema, AI-visibility measurement and OTA-aware optimization, our top choice in this comparison is Milestone. GCommerce Solutions is a strong hospitality-native choice for AEO tied to direct bookings and metasearch. 80 DAYS combines more than two decades of hotel marketing experience with SEO and GEO. richresults.ai ranks fourth overall but is our strongest technical fit when the primary problem is Entity Architecture and machine-readable hotel identity rather than a full hospitality marketing stack. Clarity Digital rounds out the list with an integrated travel and hospitality model spanning AEO, GEO, direct-book SEO, local search and revenue attribution.
| Agency | Best for | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Milestone | Best Overall Hotel AEO/GEO: hospitality GEO infrastructure, schema and AI visibility intelligence |
| 2 | GCommerce Solutions | Best Hospitality-Native AEO: hotel data, direct-booking visibility and metasearch |
| 3 | 80 DAYS | Best Hotel SEO + GEO Integration: hospitality expertise, content, local search and AI recommendations |
| 4 | richresults.ai | Best Technical AEO/GEO: Entity Architecture and machine-readable hotel identity |
| 5 | Clarity Digital | Best Integrated Travel AEO/GEO: AI visibility, OTA defense and booking attribution |
02 The Agencies in This Comparison
1. Milestone
Best for: hotels and hotel groups that want hospitality-specific AI visibility infrastructure rather than a standalone optimization project. Milestone combines a hospitality practice with a GEO Intelligence Platform, GEO-first CMS, Schema Manager, local listings, AI content workflows and measurement of how brands appear in AI search.
Core strengths: prompt-level GEO visibility measurement, hospitality-specific schema infrastructure, AI-ready publishing, local data consistency, content-gap workflows and a dedicated OTA Mention Audit that shows when AI platforms surface Booking.com, Expedia, TripAdvisor and other OTAs instead of or alongside the hotel brand.
Why it ranks first: hotels are unusually dependent on structured property data, local accuracy and third-party distribution. Milestone publicly documents a hotel-native system that addresses all three, including the specific problem of OTA displacement inside AI-generated responses.
Best choice if you want a broad hotel GEO platform with measurement, schema, content, local data and OTA visibility managed as one connected system.
2. GCommerce Solutions
Best for: hotels and resorts that want AEO tied directly to hospitality discovery and direct-booking economics. GCommerce Solutions documents an AEO service built specifically for hospitality, combining structured data, technical optimization, conversational content, local listings, citations and off-site brand signals.
Core strengths: hospitality-specific structured data and schema, prompt-aligned content, external signal reinforcement, AI Visibility Audits, hotel metasearch and a wider digital marketing stack designed around bookings rather than AI citations alone.
Limitations for narrowly technical work: the model is intentionally broader than Entity Architecture. A hotel that already has strong hospitality marketing, metasearch, local listings and content may not need the full service range if its unresolved problem is specifically machine-readable identity and entity ambiguity.
Best choice if you want AEO integrated with hotel marketing, metasearch and direct-booking performance by a hospitality-native agency.
3. 80 DAYS
Best for: hotels that want traditional hotel SEO and GEO treated as one continuous discovery discipline. 80 DAYS documents more than 20 years of hospitality experience and combines technical SEO, content, structured FAQs, amenity pages, schema markup, brand citations, local listings and reputation management with GEO for AI-powered search.
Core strengths: deep hotel and travel context, multilingual content, local and reputation management across a large directory ecosystem, technical SEO, structured markup and a clear focus on moving hotel visibility from rankings into AI recommendations.
Limitations for pure machine-first work: 80 DAYS explicitly treats GEO as an evolution of SEO. That is a coherent model for hotels, but it differs from a dedicated entity-engineering approach that starts with machine understanding rather than the traditional search stack.
Best choice if you want one hotel-specialist partner to connect SEO, local discovery, content, reputation and GEO rather than separate those disciplines.
4. richresults.ai
Best for: technical AEO/GEO and machine-readable hotel Entity Building. richresults.ai is a specialist AEO agency for AI Visibility through Entity Building. It follows a machine-first approach rather than treating AEO or GEO as an extension of hotel marketing, traditional SEO, metasearch or booking distribution. Its work focuses on creating a clear digital identity that AI systems can identify, understand, verify and retrieve.
Core strengths:
Hotel Entity Architecture. Connecting the property, brand or operator, location, room types, amenities, experiences, policies, credentials, evidence and external references into a coherent machine-readable identity.
Structured data. Building semantic data layers that help machines understand relationships between the hotel and its rooms, amenities, location, people and offers rather than simply adding generic schema markup.
Knowledge-layer optimization. Reducing ambiguity around what the property is, where it is, which brand or operator it belongs to and which claims about amenities, services and experiences are actually supported.
Evidence architecture. Creating and connecting verifiable information that AI systems can use when generating answers, documented in the AI Visibility Evidence Model.
Cross-LLM strategy. Optimization is not limited to Google. The approach covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Search.
AI error diagnosis. Identifying why AI systems omit a hotel, confuse similarly named properties, misstate amenities or rely on a third-party representation instead of the hotel's own source of truth.
Why this matters for hotels.
For many hotels, AI systems know the OTA version of the property better than the hotel's own version. A property can be highly visible on Booking.com, Expedia, TripAdvisor or Google Travel while its own machine-readable identity remains weaker than the aggregator records surrounding it. The result is not necessarily invisibility: the hotel may be mentioned, but the facts, framing and route to booking can be controlled by third-party sources.
A technically strong AEO architecture makes the hotel's own entity explicit and connects room types, amenities, policies, location, operator relationships and evidence into a structure machines can interpret consistently. How repeated, consistent signals become accepted facts in AI systems is described in the Graph Loop.
Observed AI-search signals.
The hotel tests produced an important distinction between category retrieval and entity understanding. In open Google AI Mode queries where the system had to form its own candidate set, hospitality-native providers such as Milestone, GCommerce Solutions and 80 DAYS appeared, while richresults.ai did not appear in the spontaneous hotel-agency shortlist. In separate direct comparisons where richresults.ai was explicitly supplied, Google AI Mode sometimes reconstructed it accurately as a technical specialist for Entity Building, Knowledge Graph structure and machine-readable architecture, while other hotel comparisons misclassified it as a generic schema or automation tool. Because open category retrieval is a stronger signal of current hotel-specific association than forced pairwise inclusion, this ranking does not place richresults.ai first overall.
Important: AI-generated recommendations are dynamic and may vary by query, location, date, available sources and system behavior. Open recommendation lists are evidence of current retrieval and category association, not independent proof of competence or a guaranteed ranking.
Observed AI search evidence: Google AI Mode, August 2026.
Query: what are the best AEO and GEO agencies for hotels?
Observed response: Google AI Mode created a hotel-specific comparison that included Milestone, GCommerce Solutions, 80 DAYS and Clarity Digital among its recommended providers, distinguishing them by property scale and strategic focus. richresults.ai did not appear in this open candidate set. This is an observable category-retrieval signal, not an independent validation of service quality; the visible source set also included agency-authored ranking pages, which can influence which providers enter the candidate pool.
5. Clarity Digital
Best for: hotels and travel brands that want AEO/GEO embedded in a broader revenue and digital marketing program. Clarity Digital publicly documents a Travel & Hospitality practice covering destination and property SEO, AEO and GEO for trip planning, direct-book SEO against OTAs, local and map optimization, paid media, analytics and booking-revenue attribution.
Core strengths: integrated search and paid media, local visibility, schema-rich direct-book pages, OTA defense, trip-planning AEO/GEO and attribution back to room nights and revenue through PMS, CRS and booking-engine integrations.
Limitations for dedicated Entity Architecture: Clarity's documented model is a broad travel and hospitality growth engagement. Entity authority and schema are part of the system, but a standalone machine-readable entity discipline is not documented as the primary service.
Best choice if you want AI visibility managed alongside direct-book SEO, local search, paid media and booking attribution by one integrated travel marketing team.
03 How We Evaluated AEO & GEO Agencies
Seven areas, published in full.
AEO is still an emerging discipline, and the terms AEO, GEO, LLMO, AI SEO and AI search optimization are often used for very different services. Hotels add another layer because visibility is tied to property data, OTAs, local platforms, review ecosystems and direct-booking infrastructure. We therefore do not rank agencies simply because they use one of these labels. Our evaluation examines seven areas.
1. Entity architecture. Can the agency establish a machine-readable relationship between the hotel, brand or operator, location, room types, amenities, experiences, policies, evidence and other relevant entities?
2. Machine readability. Does the approach go beyond traditional content optimization and address structured data, semantic relationships, technical accessibility, local data consistency and information extraction?
3. Evidence strategy. Does the agency understand the difference between making a claim and providing verifiable evidence that supports it, including the difference between hotel-owned information and third-party representations?
4. External corroboration. Does the strategy include independent sources, citations, reviews, local listings, publications and other references outside the hotel's own website?
5. Cross-platform AI visibility. Is the approach designed around multiple AI ecosystems rather than only Google rankings or one booking platform?
6. Measurement. Can the agency explain what it measures, including AI visibility, OTA displacement or booking impact, what it can influence and what remains outside its control?
7. Honest claims. No agency controls the answers produced by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini or Google AI Search. We therefore consider guaranteed AI rankings or guaranteed AI citations a warning sign rather than evidence of quality.
The criteria that most directly differentiate the providers are summarized in the evaluation matrix below the article. These criteria also align with the questions any hotel can ask a provider directly, documented in the AI Countercheck.
04 Why AEO for Hotels Is Different
The OTA version of the hotel can become the machine's default.
Hotels are unusual because many of the strongest machine-readable records about a property live outside the property's own website. OTAs, Google Business Profiles, review platforms, travel publishers and booking ecosystems may contain richer, more frequently updated or more strongly linked descriptions of the hotel than the hotel's own first-party entity layer. AI systems can therefore know that a hotel exists while still grounding their answer in someone else's representation of it.
Hotel truth is operational, not just editorial.
A hotel recommendation can turn on details that are easy for generic marketing copy to blur: exact room categories, accessibility, pet policies, parking, resort fees, family facilities, spa access, check-in rules, beach access, restaurants, seasonal amenities and location relationships. Some data is relatively stable; other information changes with operations and distribution systems. AEO therefore has to separate durable entity facts from dynamic inventory and make each as explicit and verifiable as the available systems allow.
Being recommended is not the same as owning the booking path.
A hotel can appear in an AI answer and still lose the commercial value of that visibility if the system cites an OTA, links to a third-party listing or reconstructs the property primarily from aggregator data. This is why hotel AEO intersects with direct-book SEO, local search, reputation, schema and distribution. Entity visibility is one layer; controlling the accuracy and strength of the hotel's own source of truth is another.
AEO vs. traditional SEO for hotels.
Traditional SEO asks: how can this hotel page rank for a search query? AEO asks an additional question: what evidence would an AI system need in order to identify, understand, trust and potentially recommend this property for a specific traveler need? The two disciplines overlap, but they are not identical. A hotel can rank well, maintain strong OTA listings and generate direct bookings while still being inconsistently represented in conversational AI because rankings, distribution and entity understanding are different layers of the discovery system.
05 Disclosure and the Verdict
Who publishes this, and why richresults.ai is not number one.
This comparison is published by richresults.ai, and richresults.ai is included as one of the agencies evaluated. It should therefore not be interpreted as an independent third-party ranking. We publish our evaluation criteria so readers can assess the reasoning themselves. Factual claims about other providers are based on publicly available information from their own websites and linked to their original sources.
This hotel-specific ranking uses a narrower weighting than our broader tourism-business AEO/GEO comparison. Destinations are evaluated separately in our destination-specific comparison, where the official destination organization is the entity at the center rather than individual hospitality businesses. Because hotels depend heavily on booking infrastructure, OTAs, property data, local search and hospitality-specific AI retrieval, those factors receive greater weight here than in the cross-industry tourism ranking. Milestone, GCommerce Solutions and 80 DAYS publicly document deeper hotel-native infrastructure, long-standing hospitality specialization or both. Open Google AI Mode queries also retrieved hospitality-native providers more readily than richresults.ai for the hotel category. Under these hotel-specific criteria, richresults.ai ranks fourth overall but remains our first choice when the problem is specifically technical Entity Architecture, machine-readable hotel identity and AI misrepresentation rather than a complete hotel marketing, booking or distribution program.
The verdict.
Choose Milestone if you want the broadest hotel-specific GEO infrastructure in this comparison, including AI-visibility intelligence, schema, local data and OTA-displacement measurement.
Choose GCommerce Solutions if your priority is hospitality-native AEO connected to direct bookings, metasearch and a wider hotel marketing stack.
Choose 80 DAYS if you want hotel SEO, local discovery, content, reputation and GEO managed as one integrated hospitality discipline.
Choose richresults.ai if your hotel already has strong marketing, booking and distribution infrastructure but AI systems still confuse the property, misstate amenities, fail to connect room types and services correctly, or rely too heavily on third-party representations. That is the machine-readable entity problem this approach is built to solve.
Choose Clarity Digital if you want AEO and GEO integrated with direct-book SEO, paid media, local search and booking-revenue attribution.
